The Khosa, Khoso, or Khosug (Balochi: کھوسگ, Sindhi:کھوسو, Urdu: کھوسھ ,کھوسو) are a Baloch tribe of Pakistan. According to Baloch epics, Khoso means brave or The Warrior. Different books have written it differently but all agree that Khoso means The Warrior. According to Baloch history, Khoso was the grandson Ameer Abdo khan son of Ameer hooth.

The Khoso is one of historiaforty tribes of Baloch which have survived since the 11th century. According to Baloch ns, the tribes have merged into one another and only a few survived to live with their own identity. The Khoso tribe name is found in many poems (11th and 12th century) of Baloch epic.

Have you ever visited to the west and north of Dera Ghazi Khan. If no than you must visit those areas, because you are running a web site for khosas and excluding your core tribal personalities in pictures and your main tribal land. The mountains starting from Sakhi sarwar (saints shrine) and stretching to the trbal region of tuman bozdar to west and tuman leghari to south and tuman lund to north is the tribal land of khoso tribe. Chief Sardar Zulfiqar khoso is the president of punjab nawaz league a important personality because he and his son remain as governor and chief minister of punjab. His son Sardar Dost Mohammad Khosa is a very fine person i expecting a very bright future for him and for whole tribe. Sardar Zulfiqar khosa is different from other personaities of khosas he keep loyalty with his party during difficult times. That character is not shown by other khosa politiciasn switching loyalties. Sardar Zulfiqar khosas position in punjab is very strong. A huge asset for khosas. It shows bravery and inspiration to other khosas.

Greetings. I was born in Pakistan in Jacobabad district of Sind area. Currently I am living in Sweden from 1974. I was looking at the telephone directory of Sweden on the web some months back to find the street address of our son Michael (Majeed). To my surprise, I found more Khosos in Sweden than I was aware of. This raised the interest level to high and I thought I would perhaps find out who this family from Pakistan was and if they knew I was living here for past 35 years. So, I called the family. The lady who answered kept on repeating a name. I tried Swedish, I tried English and tried some other broken languages of Europe which I hardly can converse properly. No way. I tried some Sindhi and Urdu. Nothing was working. So I gave up for the time being. Next day, I called in the evening hours. The young daughter (I guess in her teens) spoke very good Swedish. I asked her of their roots. She said, Khoso is a common name in Iraq and they have migrated from area close to Bagdad. Now to my curiosity, have you guys been doing some family roots studies? I hear that a vast region in the east of Caspian sea has a large population of Baloochi speaking Kurds and other tribes. I meet Kurds here in Sweden and some of them resemble a normal Balooch in modern cloths. Currently, I am looking at the 800 years BC and the great movement of Middle East (Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey) to Northern Iraq, Armenia, Iran, Afghanistan, western part of Pakistan, Kashmir and central Asian countries. Please put some thoughts and give me your views.

The Khosa, Khoso, or Khosug (Balochi: کھوسگ, Sindhi:کھوسو, Urdu: کھوسھ ,کھوسو) are a Baloch tribe of Pakistan. Even though the word has been used differently in different book, according to Baloch epics, Khoso means one with the knife or The Warrior. According to Baloch history, Khoso was the grandson of Hooth.

The Khoso is one of forty tribes of Baloch which have survived since the 11th century. According to Baloch historians, the tribes have merged into one another and only a few survived to live with their own identity. The Khoso tribe name is found in many poems (11th and 12th century) of Baloch epic. Sardar Meer Dilmurad was sardar of this clan when British government was established but he did not recognise them and with a few other sardars tried to fight them but was subsequently arrested and was sent to Nicobar and Andaman islands which was then camp for high value targets as in British gazzatte and puppet sardar was made at Qadirpur.

The Khoso community turn towards backward direction day by day. The Khoso tribe can progress very much because the Khoso tribe is not basically the nomads who wander from one place to another.
Khoso community gets higher education in various fields and I felt happy to hear high about Khoso brothers and sisters who are leading the way to success but let me remind you that education does not mean mere acquisition of degree. It means awareness which is essential for character building. Khoso is the community which spreaded over several countries. Even my family members are living in study in foreign countries.
If the traffic in your brain is driving you insane then try not to bother about that. It is not an indication that you should better stop trying to achieve in your goal.
I wanna suggest you to not pay attention whatever to anybody praise or blame. You simply follow your own feelings.

Ist of all it is honour for our tribe that we have a separate website in order to share something about our tribe. Secondly, i would like to appreciate MR NOOR KHAN for having such a great work and admiration for our tribe. I have some points regarding our history that are mentioned below:

1. According to Professor Albert John at University of California USA, in his book, WARRIOR TRIBES OF SOUTH ASIA that actualy the word KHOSO has been driven from the actual word ''KHOSAIC''(an old province of DAGESTAN,NEAR CHECHNIYA) which means warlords or warrior''s land. They migrated from these areas towards south of the Russia and settled near Makran and present day Balochistan.

2. In 12th and 13th centuries epic name of our tribe have also been mentioned.

3. Accoding to Abdul Hameed Lashari all tribes of Baloch are decendents of Lashar and Rind tribes and khoso is the sub branch emerged from Rind tribe during 13th century.

With regards and a lot of prays for our great and gallant tribe.
